Patience is so important always, but it feels especially useful now in the sticky-hot days of summer, when traffic is slow, humidity is pervasive, and our fuses are short.
For most of us, patience doesn’t come naturally. It’s a skill we need to practice, mindfully, every day.
The more we practice with little things -- like taking deep breaths in line a Trader Joe’s and staying calm when the weekend subway schedule is driving us nuts -- the more that translates into finding peace and compassion with life’s bigger challenges.
Truth is, it’s a luxury when something small like waiting in a long line is the biggest annoyance in our day. So breathe deep, summer sweets, and keep practicing the art of patience.
