Laurel, a Licensed Massage Therapist and professional Labor Support Doula, has been working with Rachel at Massage Williamsburg since the business first started growing a little over a year ago.
Several years after completing an undergraduate degree in Dance at Wesleyan University, Laurel enrolled in the Massage Therapy program at the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences. There she found she was able to merge her love of human anatomy and movement with her passion for hands-on, people-focused work. Since graduating, Laurel has also become certified in Pre and Perinatal Massage and is currently pursuing certification as a Doula through DONA International. Laurel loves each new challenge that this career brings her way and believes that every session is an opportunity to leave her clients feeling more fully integrated and centered within their bodies.
In her spare time, Laurel is an avid cook and co-authors the blog Tofu Robotics - a collection of delicious, occasionally experimental, vegetarian recipes. Someday Laurel hopes to live in a cottage in the woods in Western Massachusetts with a giant vegetable garden and maybe some chickens, but for now she is thrilled to be practicing massage in Brooklyn at Massage Williamsburg.
